Food adventure @ Chokolait
"OMG, you know what place has the best hot chocolate in the world?”
And it was through these words from Pam Pam that thehouseofem and I came to learn of the existence of Chokolait. The cosy chocolaterie, which sells all things chocolate, is tucked away in a mini, arcade-like area in Little Collins St, and quite well-hidden. I suppose many may come to learn of the cafe through friends like Pam Pam who rave about the hot chocolate!

There is also seating available outside the cafe in the arcade area.
Complimentary chocolate samples.
Check out these adorable chocolate-covered strawberries. If I hadn’t ordered a hot chocolate (as if I would have ordered anything else after Pam Pam’s raving review), I would have bought some. Next time I guess…
Three Belgian dark hot chocolates.
My jaw actually dropped when it dawned on me how large these hot chocolates were, and even then, the size of my hanging mouth in no way came close to matching that of our beverages. Combine the sheer size of the drink with the many layers of chocolate that resulted in a rich, chocolaty, sweetness, and you have on your hands what can only be described as a chocoholic’s heaven. If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, I would highly recommend sharing the drink with someone.
So while I haven’t consumed enough hot chocolates worldwide to vouch for Pam Pam’s statement, I can say that Chokolait’s hot chocolate was VERY GOOD.
Phew, don’t you just hate it when the real thing doesn’t live up to the hype?
